McNees names Devin J. Chwastyk as Chair of the Firm's Privacy & Data Security Practice Group. Devin, Of Counsel in the McNees Litigation Practice Group, focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on class actions, privacy and data security, constitutional law, intellectual property disputes, and appellate litigation. He counsels the firm's clients in data breaches, including rectifying, investigating, and reporting hacking and other data exposure events, and has represented parties in leading data breach litigation nationwide.
Devin has been named to the Pennsylvania Rising Star® list since 2010. He has long been a supporter of civil rights causes, and served for six years as the President of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, where he remains a member of the board. Before joining McNees, he worked in Washington, D.C. for a First Amendment advocacy organization and for a public interest law firm.
Devin received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude and his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court; before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third and Ninth Circuits; before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations, where he serves as Vice-Chair of the Equal Professional Opportunity Committee and on the Board of Directors.
