Gibbons P.C. Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer June M. Inderwies has been selected one of the "Best 50 Women in Business" for 2011 by NJBIZ, New Jersey's only weekly business journal covering the entire state. The awards reception and ceremony will take place on March 28, 2011 at the Palace at Somerset Park, honoring the state's most dynamic woman business leaders who are making a significant impact in their companies, industries, and communities.
Ms. Inderwies was recognized in part for her work at Gibbons, where she is a driving force behind many of the firm's initiatives, including supervision of at least eight significant office openings and/or relocations; a unique, generous package of benefits and personnel policies; a firmwide program of environmentally conscious business practices; the most current tools and training in information technology, knowledge management, and financial administration; two educational, mentoring, and networking platforms for ongoing retention and promotion of minority and women attorneys; and other efforts to secure the most diverse, productive workforce and outstanding work product by ensuring the firm's seamless daily operation.
Ms. Inderwies was also honored for overseeing the firm's platform for charitable and community outreach, which includes annual donations of more than $1 million and extensive volunteer service, as well as for her individual involvement, including service on the Board of Directors for Christ the King School in Newark, a college prep school for low-income students.
Advocacy for women was another key criteria for this award; Ms. Inderwies presents creative pathways to promotion for women employees at all levels in her firm, designing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives, benefits, and technology that encourage women professionals to not only advance in the workplace throughout various stages of their lives, but to strike a healthy work/life balance.
