Gibbons Chief Financial Officer Selected As Finalist For CFO Of The Year Award; Sheila McShane Named In Diversity Journal’s “Women Worth Watching”

Robert Faro, the Chief Financial Officer of Gibbons P.C., was selected as a finalist for the NJBIZ CFO of the Year Awards in the category of private companies with revenues over $50 million. This awards program, held on October 10, celebrated the financial executives who contribute to the success of New Jersey’s economic growth and stability.

As the firm’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Faro oversees all accounting and financial operations. He is responsible for providing the firm’s management with timely and accurate financial statements, ongoing cash flow projections, and budget and forecasting projections. He is also responsible for establishing and maintaining all internal procedures and controls, and he directly oversees all tax, audit, and compliance issues. Mr. Faro started at Gibbons as its Controller in 2005, and was promoted to CFO in 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Sheila F. McShane, a director in the Gibbons Intellectual Property Department, has been named one of Profiles in Diversity Journal’s “Women Worth Watching” for 2014. Profiles In Diversity Journal, now in its 16th year, is a bimonthly magazine focusing on diversity and inclusion in business, government, nonprofits, higher education, and the military. The annual “Women Worth Watching” feature showcases influential senior women executives from companies of all sizes across the country, showcasing their commitment and achievements. Ms. McShane was profiled in the September/October 2014 issue.

Ms. McShane was selected on the basis of her career at Gibbons; her commitment to the advancement of women in business and the law; and her many other professional achievements. She is a registered patent attorney and litigator in the pharmaceutical, chemical process, electrical, and software fields, focusing on patent infringement actions, including proceedings before the International Trade Commission, and large Hatch-Waxman Act pharmaceutical actions, representing innovator companies seeking protection against infringement in some of the largest patent litigations in the U.S. She also represents Fortune 500 companies in various other technologies. She has been named to IAM Patent 1000 - The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners since 2010. Ms. McShane was a process engineer and project manager in international engineering firms prior to her legal career, and designed systems for the pharmaceutical, chemical, and oil industries.
