Jones Day is pleased to announce that Richard D. Milone has joined the firm's Washington Office as a partner in its Insurance Recovery Practice. He formerly chaired Kelley Drye & Warren LLP's Washington litigation group and co-chaired its firmwide insurance recovery group.

"Richard's vast experience further bolsters our strong capabilities and is another example of the firm's strong commitment to representing policyholders," said Ty Childress, leader of Jones Day's global Insurance Recovery Practice. "As we continue to work with a growing number of corporate policyholders around the world to maximize the value of their insurance assets, his wide range of knowledge in varying claims and courts gives us even more depth to provide leading service to clients."

For more than two decades, Milone has tried matters to verdict before juries and arbitration tribunals, argued cases of first impression in state and federal appellate courts, negotiated complex, multiparty settlements, and secured hundreds of millions of dollars in disputed insurance proceeds on behalf of policyholder clients. He has handled insurance claims involving a wide array of subject matters, including financial fraud, intellectual property, antitrust, False Claims Act, false advertising, lead-based paint, hazardous nuclear waste, asbestos (both personal injury and property damage), environmental clean-up, employment discrimination, defamation, entertainers' tour cancellation, flood and hurricane damage, insurance broker malpractice, and Directors' and Officers' liability. Milone has successfully handled lawsuits throughout the U.S., including most frequently in New York, Illinois, Virginia, California, and Texas.
